Simple and comfortable
The AQUATRACE® Portable Trace Moisture Analyzer was developed for easily and quickly humidity measurements in air and process gases at plants or in the field. It's a fully self-contained device and it's ready to use.
The operating costs are low because you can easy maintain the moisture sensor by yourself and the device is very reliable and durable. You don't need a replacement sensor after a while like you know it from our competitors. You can refresh the P2O5-sensor very easy.
Fully integrated sampling system
The AQUATRACE® Portable Trace Moisture Analyzer includes a complete sampling system that allows convenient connection to any air or gas line, clean or dirty (optional filter), at pressures up to 30 MPa / 300bar.
Touchscreen
The AQUATRACE® Portable comes with a 7" IPS Touchscreen that shows the measured value in ppmV and Tdp, the current flow and the battery charge in normal mode and charging. Keyboard inputs are conveniently done via the touch keyboard or via a USB keyboard (not included in the scope of delivery)
Data Logging
The device comes with a very convenient data logger with the option of commenting on individual measurement points. The humidity values are logged in ppmV and the flow values in l/h. As soon as the device is switched on, the values are stored in a database. You need to worry about anything.

Measuring principle
Phosphorus pentoxide (P2O5) has a high affinity to absorb water to convert to tetrametaphosphoric acid. It is an extremely hygroscopic salt. This makes it ideal for building a moisture-sensitive sensor. The process goes back to the KEIDEL measuring cell developed in 1956. A decomposition voltage of more than 2V is applied to two Pt-electrodes, which electrolyzes the metaphosphoric acid. In the process, hydrogen and oxygen are released and the phosphorus pentoxide is available again for the absorption of water molecules. The P2O5 thus acts as a kind of catalyst for the electrolysis of water molecules. The resulting hydrogen and oxygen are removed from the system by the gas flow. According to Faraday's law, the measured decomposition current IM is a direct measure of the humidity. The volume flow must be kept constant for a precise measurement.
The method is not suitable for moisture determination in alkaline gases, such as ammonia gas.
